This work was inspired by the inevitable consumption patterns that people follow in order to exist in this modern world. It was constructed from 78 gasoline receipts representing the total amount of gas my car consumed in 2008, recorded on a spreadsheet. The price of the artwork was the price I paid for gasoline in 2008, just over two thousand dollars. The form was modeled after a vulture's wing.

"If I Could Only Fly" reminds me of the recurrent dreams I had as a child where I had wings and could fly anywhere I wished to go.
