My FensWater Vending Machine was installed twice; its debut was in October 2010 in MassArt's Tower lobby. Jurors from Emerson College then selected the work for their "Next Generation IV" show, an annual juried show of graduate work from Boston colleges.

I bottled the water myself from the closest natural water source to my studio, a park in Boston's Back Bay area known as "The Fens". After filling the bottles, I branded them with my own labels, "NesbitBrand Natural FensWater" and "Back Bay's evolution over time."

The vending machine displayed a variety of arbitrary prices when the buttons were pushed. If money was inserted to purchase water, the machine would simply reject the money, and did not dispense any water. All the water bottles used for collecting water samples from the Fens were recycled by MassArt students.
